Training for Dogs in Naples and Lehigh

Training for Dogs

Training your dog should start before you get the dog.  Training starts with you learning about dogs and how to train them.  This will help you from making mistakes that will confuse the dog.  If you do not understand how to communicate to your dog then it's not reasonable to expect the dog to understand your commands.

Training Puppies

Start training your puppy as soon as you bring him/her home. It's easier to begin training from the very start than trying to go back and eliminate bad behaviors later. Concentrate on  developing desirable habits and eliminating undesirable habits. Use lots of encouragement, praise and rewards. Keep your training sessions short, fun and consistent. You will need to be flexible and patient with your puppy. Puppies will make mistakes don't linger on that move on and continue on with patience.

House training your puppy: Closely monitor your puppy, Clearly communicate with your puppy the proper place to toilet, Develop a feeding and watering schedule. Every  thirty minutes take your puppy to the desired toile ting area. Use cue words to let your puppy know that this is the time and place for him/her to toilet. After your puppy toilets praise him/her for a job well done.

Training Dogs

1) Clearly communicate with your dog the expectations you have for him/her.
2) Set Boundaries for your dog of acceptable and unacceptable behavior and stick with them.
3) Be consistent!
4) Always be clear with your do that you are the leader in your owner-dog relationship.
5) Reward good behavior and not bad behavior.
6) Have patience!
