Training for Dogs
|
Training your dog should start before you get the dog. Training starts with you learning about dogs and how to train them. This will help you from making mistakes that will confuse the dog. If you do not understand how to communicate to your dog then it's not reasonable to expect the dog to understand your commands. |
Training Puppies
|
Start training your puppy as soon as you bring him/her home. It's easier to begin training from the very start than trying to go back and eliminate bad behaviors later. Concentrate on developing desirable habits and eliminating undesirable habits. Use lots of encouragement, praise and rewards. Keep your training sessions short, fun and consistent. You will need to be
flexible and patient with your puppy. Puppies will make mistakes don't linger on that move on and continue on with patience.
